The clownfish in my 37 tall FOWLR tank is looking pretty lonesome, and I want to get him/her a friend.

I will have a maximum of two fish in the tank, so I prefer a different kind of fish to another clown. I really like the longnose hawkfish, but it's $33 at the LFS! 8O

Does anyone have suggestions for small fish which will get along with my clown and the 10 hermits in the tank? Oh, and are not $33 at the LFS, $20 is fine.

You could prolly get damsels. I don't have any cause they would prolly get eaten, but they are small and should get along with clowns. I don't think there is anything under 33 at my local petstore. I agree with ohio reefer. A coral beauty is a awesome fish and flame angels. I have a half black angel she get's along with the clowns I have and the shrimp I had(tasty treat for the trigger).
