Starfish losing arm

Hello had my starfish for several months now and today I notice his one arm is missing a bit. Is this normal and if so will it grow back?

If the starfish is healthy they can regrow limbs. Though when it comes to our systems, it usually isn't a good sign. I'd be looking at parameters to see what is going on in the system as once they start to go, they usually don't recover.
With all of that said, you haven't told us what kind of starfish we are even talking about. Some are much hardier than others.

I don't know if this picture helps I forget the kind but I feel it's a red linkia starfish

I can't see much, but if that is what it is it is far from looking healthy. These guys are difficult to keep alive.
