72 gal bow switching to salt

Hello all! I have a 72 gal bow front fresh tank with a 305 Fluval. I have been a hobbiest for years but have never delved into saltwater.

Does anyone have any tips for starting up my tank? Thanks!

P.S. I am doing Fish with Live rock.

ok great information! first off I am purchasing salt... here goes the can of worms.. from the research I have done SeaChem looks to be where I would like to start. Any thoughts on this?
Also filter Media I am using Hagen Fluval BioMax Media 500G using this in all 4 drawers in my Fluval 305.
Is this enough mechanical filtration for the 72 bow?
I read that buying whole "kits" for testing isnt so great.
Are there individual kits or tests that I should focus on?
Also should I be too worried about trace minerals with fish and inverts only?If so should I purchase an RO/OI?
