New tank set up a few weeks old.

Hi people, I am trying to grow plants with my fish. I just installed the Sera CO2 -start unit. It mentions in the instructions that the CO2 pill should dissolve in a few hours. It dissolved in about 5 minutes. My water is alkaline not acid so I am assuming that that was not the reason. Has anyone tried the Sera CO2?
