Newbie Cichlid Guy

Hiya!

I'm Zack and I'm fairly new to the world of fish-tankery. Had mollies, swordtails, and guppies as a kid, and finally got back into the hobby, this time with Cichlids. My tanks:

40 gallon hex

Jack Dempsey - Still a juvy, most likely female
Crenicichla geayi -- cichlid pike
Bucktooth Tetra - 3
Senegal Bichir
Common Pleco

55 gallon standard long

OB Cichlid
Yellow Labs - 2
Chinese Algae Eater
Peacock Cichlid- 2 - (Both female)
Herotilapia multispinosa "Rainbow" - indeterminate age, male
Tin Foil Barbs - 2

I know they seem a little weird for now, but they're working for the time being. I'll be getting a new 45 gallon display tank soon, and I'll be doing some appropriate transplanting.

Always welcome ideas and suggestions. I hope by joining this community that I can gain specific information that will help me to provide long and happy lives to my fish.
