Heater overkill for QT

Hey Everyone,

Getting a visitherm stealth for will be my qt tank. I was thinking, wouldn't it be a good idea to go overkill on the heater so i can be sure diseases like ich will disappear relatively quickly? I was thinking the 100w stealth for my 10g tank.

100W should be okay on a 10G. As long as it will reach temperature, that is fine. It's really just the speed it takes to get to the temperature that is raised. Once it's holding temperature, it makes little difference.

I use a 50W heater in my 10g quarantine tank but there is no reason you couldn't use a 100W heater as long as it is reliable like the Visi-Therm Stealth. The only reason not to use one would be if you were afraid that the heater would fail and lock in the 'on' position so that your fish 'boiled'.
