how to raise lid, something commercial available?

I have a screen canopy

I installed a canister filter, but I cant cut holes in the screen for the filter intake and return, or I wont be able to open the lid.

so I want to raise the black edges of the aquarium an inch or two and just leave an empty hole around the filter pipes.

is there something commercial available, or do most people just cut out some acrylic sheets or something?
