I'm lighting a 40 gallon breeder tank that will have 2 inch gravel, large rocks, and plastic plants. Right now no fush are in the tank.. I'm cycling it. The only fish I have planned to enter the tank is my albino bristlenose pleco. I will want to add more later but that's a month or more down the road. Right now I'm wondering if the lights I'm about to install into my hood are overkill.... I got a 5 meter strip of 5630 LED waterproof lights. I was going to split it into 1 meter sections and use all 5 meters. Would that be too much light? It's a natural white color.

Any advice?

Probably too much light.

Do you know what the K (Kelvin) rating is on the lights? It may make a difference if you just want to light the tank now or grow plants later.
