Light repair

So a while back I accidentally dropped part of my 24" Coralife light in my tank. None of the fish died but the lights stopped working. I took
It to my lfs because I know they repair lights. After 2 days they told me they charge $145 to fix it. Apparently my
Balancer is broken? Iv heard about ballast but whats a balancer? What should
I do?

My Ballast went on my light lfs wanted $100 found same thing online $30.put it in myself very easy to replace
