lighting and fish

If you have a reef tank with no corals do you have to keep the light on all the time. Plan on starting with mainly clown fish maybe a plant or 2.

Even with corals you wouldn’t want the lights on all the time.

You could run them less if you have algae issues but if not then with any setup you should cycle the lights for around 8-12 hours a day.

I run mine on a timer from 9am-9pm. Fish need sleep too

The only light that I have that stays on all the time is my fuge light. Your main lights need to be on a schedule like tec said. He was right in saying that fish and corals need rest also.

something on top of the 24h refugium light is that, only if u don't want u algawe grow too fast in it..u keep the light on 24h, if u want to promo al;gae gow in ur refugium u should set a timer as well
