I have an AGA Megaflow Model 4 connected to an Oceanic RR 120 with 2 overflows. I'm using a Mag Drive 1200 pump with 2 Oceanic Accessory Kits in the overflow boxes. Both overflows are rated at 600
gph.
The overflow on the left side of my tank is extremely loud, gurgles constantly, and drains at a rapid rate into my sump (splashing up against the acrylic). The right side drain, on the other hand, makes virtually no noise, has almost no bubbles in the drain line, and drains smoothly into the bubble chamber.
The only difference in the 2 sides is the physical distance of the bulkheads to the intake tubes. The left side intake is about 18" from the bulkhead, and the right side, is nearly 3x that distance.
It seems that the left side is overwhelmed, while the right side is underutilized, causing the noisy, air-filled, surging on the left.
Any ideas on how to balance it out?
