Protein Skimmer and Phytoplankton
I have been dosing my tank with DT's once a week. My question is should I turn of my skimmer for a couple hours after feeding to prevent it from removing the phytoplankton?

That is so strange you would ask that I am running a hob filter on my 10g and had the same question. LOL!

I never turned off my skimmer when I use to dose phyto. Typically the amount that is pulled out is very small to what is dosed into the tank.
Ideally, I guess you should turn it off because you are loosing some to the skimmer but for me, the amount was too small to notice. My clams and corals did fine with it on.

I turn mine off for a hour or two when I use it. What are you feeding with it?

Once a week 1 put 2 teaspoons in my tank. I do it when I feed the fish. I use it for my featherduster and soft corals - zoos, leathers, and mushrooms.
