Protein skimmer location

Hi, i was wondering if someone could help me. i have a 270 litre Marine aquarium and i am using a tunze 9005 protein skimmer which is currently situated in the tank. what i was looking to do was move it into a small 30 litre sump. what i wanted to know was if the sump is large enough to carry out efficient skimming. there will be a circulation pump circulating the the volume of the tank roughly 10 time an hour. please could someone help
