Submersible vs. In-line heaters

I currently have a marineland submersible heater. It works great, but I dont like equipment in my tank because to me, it "clutters" up the tank. Does anyone have experience with in-line heaters? Do they work?

People do have them and I haven't heard any complaints. My issue with them is if they fail, you have to shut your filter off and take it apart....
If you have room, you could do a sump/fuge...

yeah, I agree. It's easier just to hide the submersible in the sump or the fuge if you have one.
