I love my live bearers! I have a separate tank for my female that's dropping. When my females get close to their due dates, I move them to a planted 10 gallon. Then after she is done dropping, I move her to my recovery tank. Which is another planted 10 gallon. After about a week I move her back to her breeding tank.
I'm in the process of building a plywood tank. It's going to be 80 inches long, 30 inches wide and only 10 inches deep (without substrate). It will be broken into 8 individual tanks with glass dividers and all have their own over flows and returns. This tank will hold all my breeders, which I'm hoping to have 1 male and 3 females in each compartment, which will be heavily planted. Then eventually I will be making a fry rack modeled after the one Ted Judy, from YouTube, has made. Hope all my plans work out.
So my female dropped! Since I'm not certain an the lineage in which these fish came from, i can't be certain that they are from my sailfin male. Either way, they are from the sailfin female and some sailfin male! And they're cute!
