Aquarium Advice FINatic
I figured I would post on my progress/experience with breeding my Bolivian Rams (First time ever raising fish).
I kept a batch they produced at the end of April, had about ~40 free swimming fry. Removed them with a turkey baster and put in 10g tank. I learned that Pythons are the worst thing you can use when cleaning the fry tank, lost about 20 in a matter of 1-2 seconds. Found its easier to just take the gravel part off the python and put a sock or fluval edge filter foam over the small pvc tube, and clean that way.
I have been feeding them first bites because I was not prepared at all, and they immediately took to eating it.
Well I am 6 weeks into the new fry, and I have 6 healthy rams left. They now have black rays on the front of the dorsal, with white showing up right after it. They're also getting the black line going down the eye too. They now are starting to show territorial behavior with each other, and are locking lips if they feel like it (starting a pecking order). Its pretty cool to see them go from eggs, to almost 1/2in long! They're now eating chopped up frozen brine shrimp, first bites, and NLS Thera A broken up.
So yeah, I just felt like sharing what I have accomplished so far! thanks for listening
