I am new at this and i have a community tank. I have a 90 gallon fw tank. A lot of fish. small community fish. Now i have a dalmatian molly or white and black molly that gave birth about a month ago. today she began to swim side way the way she did when she gave birth, we managed to save some fish, since then we only have one left. my question is, is there a way to tell when she is pregnant or ready to give birth we do have a small tank for this reason. We will try to catch them we are going to try and raise even if is only one fish from birth.

thank you if you can help. :?

Mollies will get larger and rounder...they also will have a gravid spot by their anal fin.

Becareful moving far along mothers as it may cause premature births!

Mollies are like the tribbles from Star Trek. They seem to be born pregnant. For that reason it is probably best to keep them in their own separate tank. The good news is that mollies ignore their fry and you can raise the fry in the same tank with the parents.
