I have 2 Female and 1 Male Dwarf Honey Gourami on a planted tank (High tech, 20g)

For couple of weeks after I got them, he was making a bubble nest and tried to breed.
But my surface agitation would simply break away his nest.
So I lowered it a bit and added lots of floating plants.
But now he would not make one anymore.

I'm feeding them well and everything is normal. I'm not sure what's going on.
Should I lowered my filter to where there's almost no surface movement?
But then would there be enough oxygen? maybe my plants would take care of that?

Any advice would be greatly helpful. Thanks!

if all you have in the tank is gouramis then no worry on the lower oxygen levels in the water. gouramis are labyrinth fish and breathe directly from the surface. it could be that after a few weeks he finally realized the female did not want to mate and gave up. maybe reducing the flow changed something about the tank that has made him not want to mate anymore.
