hey do you think apistos need a place to hide? i was going to heavily plant my tank with just a piece of driftwood in the middle, but i need to know if they need a cave bc i dont really know how to make a cave look natural and fit into the picture in my mind.

I would think they'd need a cave. Just position it so you can see into it at all times, but they can still feel secure.

Yes apistos like heavily planted tanks, but mine are also happy with out! Mine seem to be very active, and don't tend to hide very much...unless she is guarding :)

I guess it would depend on the shape of the dw...I have a small flower pot with java moss growing over it...not the most natural looking cave, but she really loves it

Ya, just make sure that it is stable :) would not want her to get squished somehow

the good thing about sand stones is they never fall and are unbeleavably stable underwater.

Fantastic :) I hope they like it
