Platy genetics

How rare would it be for my platys to give birth to a pintail type? Both parents had regular tails and so do the rest of the fry...except this one.
Would a grandparent have to be a pintail or can it go further back?
I can easily tell who the mother is, I imagine the fish will be the (almost) spitting image of her.

Its possible it could of been further back but i highly doubt it as old genes would get pushed out of the way for new genes but pin tails are super rare
