Why platy not breeding

I have two orange platy females and a tri colored male. They have been together for about 3 months but never had babies. Any idea why? I watch for changes in behavior and size and nothing ever changes, actually the male doesn't really bother with either of the females. Here is a pic of my bigger female. The other is my male.

maybe both are not interested in each other?

probs not interested in the females.... if u really want babies put another male in their but ad 2 more females as well (if ur tank is big enough)
