Can anybody give me some suggestions on a stock list fir this? I'm planning on maybe one main fish and then a few others around it?

ok so
what do you like that main fish could be an apisto or bolivian ram and then you could do some juli corys and tetras

I would like a ram to be the main. And how many Corys could I add. And any ideas about top level fish with low bioload?

I would put at least 5 or 6 corys in there. Pick some dwarf corys or something small like pandas. Lampeyes are a cool sorta- top fish, there are also different killies and topminnows that would work.

The rummynoses are a beautiful silver fish but with a red head and would go really nicely with the Rams and that could be the top fish, it also has a low bio load. You can get 6 of the rummynoses. And then you could get maybe 4-6 Corys

I do like the blue rams. Thanks for all the suggestions!

If I got a pair of blue rams, 5 panda cories, and a few tetras, would I be able to get a few ghost shrimp or a bamboo shrimp?

i wouldnt do two rams in a 20g long, unless you want constant headbutting, if you do:

1 german blue ( main center piece )
5 panda cories
1 school of tetras ( 6-8 )
#xshrimp

yes you would be fine, are you going to have a planted tank?

I have no experience at all with a planted tank but I am reading thy this is best for most of these fish. Where would I start to get a planted tank

well, the first thing you want to figure out is if you want a heavy/med/low planted tank, once you figure that out, your fixture comes next, than is everything else, CO2, plant nutrients etc..

the only thing i would add is either the tetras or the german blue rams, the other fish you want to get really do well in a planted tank

if you dont, the rams would eat the shrimp, the cories/tetras would be very stressed since they have no where to hide... so i suggest you think about getting a planted tank if you really want that stock

but if dont want to get a planted tank, you can always add driftwood to make them feel more cozy and more secure when they want a place to hide

What kin of tank would be recommended for these fish low/med/high planted? Also what plants would be recommend and would PC or t5 lights or would a normal aquarium light be okay? And is fertilizer necessary?

it is what you prefer, they do well in all three levels of a planted tank

it doesn't have to be a high output if you want a low light setting, stick with T5 normal output or high output with one bulb running

if you want medium and high light plants, than go with T5HO

for low light setting, no, fish waste would be sufficient enough, but if you were to go into medium and high lighting, CO2 and other nutrients would be necessary

If I wanted a heavily planted tank with low light plants would I need a stronger light? Or does lighting just depend on what type of light the plants need and not how many there are in the tank? Also I have a saltwater setup with a 4 bulb t5 with actinic and 10000k will those work for plants or what K would be good for the plants?
