Help Between Aquarium/Terrarium

Hey guys, I'm just about to buy a 55 gallon terrarium(supposedly). And i want to put my small oscar in it for the time being. What is the difference. He tells me the glass is at least centimeter thick, so i am assuming it is strong and can support the water weight. I just want to know will i be able to put my oscar in there, and what is the difference?

Terrariums are generally designed for plants whereas aquariums are designed for fish. Aquariums are water tight, terrariums may or may not be. Many aquariums have tempered glass bottoms, terrariums typically do not. Terrariums are generally made from a lighter glass as they are designed to hold soil and plants, not water and fish. I have a friend who bought one. It leaked and couldnt be used. They arnt made to the same standard. What if it holds ok first but one day you knock it and 55gallons of water spills on the floor. Or you buy it and it isnt suitable? You wasted your $£€

A 55g made this century will have a center brace whereas the terrarium may not. I second that it may leak. I wouldn't chance it.

Yeah, i said never mind. I got a person that's gonna sell me a 125 gallon for 100$
