I got this last night wondering what type it is? Also it's after moving from top of this rock to underneath it since the lights came on this morning. I know they move but did it get out of the light cause its turned up to much? Help please :)

Oh right.... Honestly at first i thought your thread asking what you could keep under that in a 17g tank was a joke because that light is kinda overkill for a tank that size. How far above the tank is it? Is it dimmable? Look up LED photo acclimation.

Somewhere around 10-12 inches over the tank. I bought the led cause I planned to go to a bigger tank eventually. It is a dimmable yes and I have it turned down pretty much the whole way only up a few notches

It does look like a green BTA, kind of bleached tho? It may take a few days to get used to its new home, just keep an eye on it. Is this a new system? It looks like it. How did you acclimate?

Yeah my system is pretty new. At my lfs this anemone was on the glass. Now it's underneath my rock should I help it get to the glass?

I temp acclimated and added small amounts of my tank water over an hour or two

It will find its place soon enough if your conditions are right. I have heard of people coaxing it out from under rocks by putting an extra light on it. It needs light to survive but unfortunate they don't have brains to work that out! The reason why it is best to wait to add anemones is because they require stable water parameters, new systems will fluctuate in temp, salinity and especially newly cycled systems will encounter high nitrates, they will not like this. I had one once that was under a rock but luckily I could upturn that rock towards the light. Can you do that?

My water has been great I tested again yesterday and its perfect. My temp will only change about 1 degree during the whole day it's in between 79-80 all the time. I can turn up that rock!

Bectan I turned over the rock check it out

How can you tell? He looks fine to me. My tank is 6 weeks old it cycled after 10 days and water is fine salinity is stable at 1.025, 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate temp is around 79

He's bleached and kinda spread out. Usually you wait a year to add any type of nem. Keep an eye on him and if he's not getting better and darkening up I'd try to rehome him. 6 weeks is really wayyyyy to early to add a BTA.

So I touched the anemone a few times and on its side and now it's closed right up... Did I kill it? Ughhh :/

Its better facing up! Why are you touching it? Just leave it be. I don't want to come down on you for rushing in and buying a nem so soon but you should be aware that its not an ideal scenario and I don't see I great future for this nem. You water might be fine now but it needs to be fine everyday, all the time. New systems fluctuate, no fault of your own they just do that's why you have to take things slowly in the salt water game. When I started my tank I tested weekly (sometimes more) and wrote down in a notebook temp, salinity, amm, nitrites, nitrates, ph and phos. About 7 months later I started to see the same numbers across the board and then added a nem.
