After using the so lunar for about a week now I'm not wildly impressed. The user interface is a little difficult and it comes with ZERO instructions albeit it includes a url to visit a pdf version of a user manual that is pretty confusing. The dimming profiles are nice but the other affects like lightning, moon, wave, and clouds are not very good at all. The lighting is extremely aggressive and looks for like a strobe
the moon just is the fixture dimmed down to 10%, wave is a strange little function that is very choppy, and clouds might not even do anything... its hard to tell. The sunrise and sunset are good though and it allows to dim and increase light level throughout the day so it accomplishes what I really care about and the manual dim also works fine. You won't be disappointed with the fixture, very high quality, and I'm quoting from old scales here "You could beat a bear with that thing and it would still be fine.". The light output is pretty incredible and I didn't get the XB. Lights up every inch of my tank and the plants pearl like crazy.
Oh don't feel bad, it was just 2 weeks ago that I was still rocking the odyssey t-5 ho fixtures.
