I tried it and it just melts foam away. I would however let it dry out after and then soak and change water every so often to be safe it's off.

Well... As I continue to wait on the "letter carrier" for my magic sculpt... BTW I will pay someone 100$ if they can figure out what its made of and can recreate is cheaply... Cheaper than 41.99/5lbs... Anyways, I added some more paint, this time some red. Can't wait to see this in the tank... I am currently carving up foam for the second half of the tank. More to come!

Wow, that's pretty cool looking. I'm digging the paint job. Are the holes big enough for the fish to get in and out of? They look kind of small.

Oh they are quite large, some are designed to be smaller so smaller fish can get away from the big ones, or if a little fry happens to survive to inedible size

Update! Magic sculpt arrived Friday, carved some more on the bottom, have it all covered and cured now. Painting when I'm home from errands. I weighed the mountain this morning... Tips scales at 10lbs. Foam isn't going to be an issue so I didn't attempt the acetone dissolving. Pics soon to follow!! Lfs said they'd sell as many as I want to make!

I wish you luck that it sinks. It doesn't take much foam to make them float. When I built my background I carved out tons of foam and filled the holes with rocks and concrete and it still floated

Ok so with all the foam inside it "flinked" about 3/4 to the bottom. Grr. So I still some holes in the bottom and the top on the back. Get two gallons of acetone and it is now totally foam free. I also identified a few thin spots that I patched. Note to anyone doing this: it is very important to do acetone before you paint... *face palm* so tomorrow I get to paint some more after a good sanding :(

This is what acetone does to krylon fusion paint (that was cured)ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1424848049.247884.jpg

Peacocks not so sure of it yet

That paint is suppose to cure for 24-48 hours before it's safe.

True statement.. even longer if the humidity is high.

36hrs passed before I dunked it, have had it in the bathtub for the last day, the posts above didn't necessarily happen on the day I posted

I've used the krylon fusion on a DIY filter before. No issues, very safe.

Awesome project by the way!! I'm jealous!!! I've really been wanting to do a back ground like this....
