Learned today that Lampeyes are classified as Poeciliae while Killifish are classified under Cyprinodontiformes. But are both Lampeyes and Killifish Cyprinodontiformes? And would other poeciliae like guppies, mollies, flagfish and such also be included? Would love to chat with someone on the topic I have a lot to learn.
Also at the moment I am incredibly interested in the evolutionary radiation of false spider crabs, brought on by my thai micros. In researching I have discovered that many freshwater crabs are simply not researched past taxonomy whatsoever. There are many freshwater crabs that look so similar to the Thai Micro and I want to classify them all! There’s blind trogolobyte false spider crabs, there’s ones that dwell in the pools high up in the mountains of new zealand, man all this freshwater crab business just fascinates me. ALL aquatic life does.
