Did you ever end up testing your nitrates and phosphates?

I have two pictures attached. These corals haven't opened up in two weeks, so I'm trying to decide what the problem is. My finger leather coral is doing great. One is my toadstool that has a hard "growth" on the side with a little black stringy thing. I have tapped it and it is solid - not soft...

This is the best I could get. It is definitely weird. It hasn't moved at all. Just opened and closed.

No - It doesn't. It looks more like a carpet like thing. It doesn't have any long tentacles like majano or aiptasia. Should I just let it be then?

I looked at that option too, but I don't have tentacles like that, or at least it doesn't yet. Its weird - It lays flat against the rock kind of like a carpet anem when its open.. I'll take a picture with my actual camera tomorrow as it has much better zoom. Hopefully we can figure this out -...

I do have a green toadstool in the tank, a purple devil's hand, and that finger leather. I used my claw/arm thingy and touched the thing and it did close up a minute later. It has a tubelike center though which is what through me off. I just noticed this today, I'm not sure its been there more...

Well, just my blue LED's are on now. I turned on my lighting system and it went from shriveled up to opening. The top layer is thin, and it looks like tentacles of some kind on the outer edges, I can't tell. With the blue LED's you can definitely see it has a shade of green in it.

It's a brownish color. I'm debating if I should buy stuff to remove it, or be happy about it. So it's probably not aiptasia or similar pest?

And it's attached to the base of a finger leather.

Can anyone help tell me what this is? It just appeared in the last two days. Should I try to remove it right away or is it okay?

I have the Reef Octopus BH1000 and I love it, but BRS rates it at most effective at 75 gallons. The BH2000 is rated at 100 gallons. Its super easy to use, clean, and I've had nothing but great experience with mine. I would recommend it in a heart beat!

I would stick to 2 500GPH - Two is better then one, and that will give you around 30x flow. It should be sufficient for your needs and to help keep your tank clean.

Do you plan on having corals, and if so, what kind?

I just did about a 40% water change on Monday, and I know the angels get big. I liked the small size that they were, and I'm going to give them to my mom when they get bigger :)
