are clams safe with brittle stars? also what benifits do brittle stars have towards the tank? btw thanks for the replies.

I read that this is bad for a DSB cus they eat the sand critters (fauna) i think. my question is are they beneficial for anything or just something to look at? I noticed all my "sand" critters are gone and if the star isnt beneficial I should get rid of it right?

thanks for your replies...the free foating stuff is white and looks like fibers or white hair. its also on my rocks and glass. im thinking this is hair algae just bleached by the sand. could this be possible?

im having a green hair algae bloom but its not to bad atm. however i have TONS of "white hairs" floating in my water? could theese be belached by the sand hair algae?
