    Aqueon or python water changer

You are a better aquariast than me! I wouldn't run the buckets under no circumstances!

    Aqueon or python water changer

Thank you everyone. I placed my order today. We should have some (much needed) water changing fun early next week. I have never done less than a 50% weekly and this cannot come soon enough!

    Aqueon or python water changer

Forgot to add that the reviews of both are very mixed so I'm looking for your expertise.

    Aqueon or python water changer

Hi everyone! I've had my Aqueon (i think but not100% sure)water changer for approximately 5 months. The blue plastic cracked on me. I'm hoping to replace it but I don't have time to go out until next weekend. I will buy the replacement and keep it as a back up (possibly another tank)...

    A Goldfish for Easter

Same here! I went from a pathetic glass block "tank" holding a single betta to a 46 gallon bow. I've learned from my mistakes and enjoy my tank so much! My kids are now hounding me for a saltwater tank. Saltwater just seems too complicated

    A Goldfish for Easter

I embarrassingly enough bought a Berta fish several years ago that was in a glass block. No filter or heater at all. I changed water every couple weeks if I remembered and had the time. Of course after he died and I found this great place. I will always feel bad for my fishy beta friend. RIP...

You know you're an aquarist if...(just for fun)

You take a shower before a pwc!!! I never want to second guess so I err to the shower.

    Plants

Wow. I had a really busy day at work. Yes sword plants! I will trim off the leaves with holes after work tomorrow. I have to say...this hobby is so fun! I'm already dreaming of another tank and this one isn't even cycled yet!

Thank you! I should have also mentioned that I also have the ceramic baggie The advice received makes sense. But why sponge, ceramic and charcol? What specifically should each do? Until my tank is cycled should I keep all three then slowly go to ceramic only?

This is a really stupid question but how and when do you trim plants. I have a swordtail with a couple holes in it. Should I remove that leave? Do I pinch off the entire leaf or do I tear off the hole portion only.

I've had my tank set up for almost a month and doing a fish in cycle. My local fish store recommends changing the charcol monthly and the sponge every other month. I am doing twice a week 40-50% pwc. Whoever invented the python system is a genius!!! But I digress. How often do you change...

    I have baby fry!

How do you do pwc with fry in the tank? I did about 30% today before I saw the fry
