    White splotch on oscar’s face

At the top of this forum there's a sticky thread about "Before Posting about unhealthy fish..." it's helpful to post answers for at least most of the questions when you have complicated fish situations. You'll get better help from the experienced people here.

My betta died! What did I do wrong?

Gh and KH changes could cause osmotic shock. You might ask the shipper for their water parameters and see how they compare to yours. Also, if the shipper is using a breather bag I'm not sure it should be floated too long in the aquarium.

    Cory Barbels Infected

infection may have spread to tetras since they were in the same tank. Or they may have just been sick if they were new. Keep up small/moderate daily or frequent water changes, don't go crazy every day, but wipe/vacuum to remove bacteria shedding. the missing tetra may be ammonia bacteria...

Weird tank growth- algae or sludge?

I don't know what it could be, but I would wipe down everything/bump up the gravel vac/water change frequency for a couple weeks. General test kits don't have reagents for organics, which can be a source of food for bacteria and fungal growth. I've also measured wide ranges of ammonia and...

    Goldfish has strange behaviour

My betta loves food, he really swirls around for snacks. but I learned too much food gives him swim bladder and I have to fast him a few days to fix my mistake. Also check parameters with a full test kit including temperature and that tank flow isn't too strong.

    Cory Barbels Infected

Do you have a hospital tank that doesn't have that substrate? Brookster123 mentioned the substrate may be too coarse for corys. If the barbels are damaged the white tissue/fish floating could be a symptom that bacterial infection has set in. It is worth consideration especially if it's...

    Ich?

Your other post on angefish looks sick, it's maybe the same issue. The pictures in that thread, how often do you gravel vac?

Goldfish with a single white spot

Seriously, the biggest one you're allowed to have. You will not regret it. Hopefully someone more sensible will chime in though.

Goldfish with a single white spot

It's nice that you helped your friend to lessen the overcrowding issue. Have you thought about a bigger tank and keeping the 10 gallon for a quarantine tank? I'm not sure if 10-12 gallon is big enough for a 6 inch goldfish, (I assume you're referring to the fish and not a 6 inch snail). I've...

    Swordtail with Popeye. Treatment options??

Your ph 5.2 is really low. is that right? Do you use Amguard for normal water changes? I'm new to fishkeeping, but this site mentions popeye may be from many things, including gram positive bacteria and could be treated with erythromycin. I'm sure it could be any of a million things...

Ember tetra with strange white marks

if your parameters are ok,you might try upping the water changes and clean the tank or aquarium salt. if you have plants - put the fish in a quarantine tank, or put the inverts in the quarantine tank and treat the main tank. if the aquarium salt isn't working after a few days, maybe try an...

    After salt treatment

Aiken Drum, you're correct, I am wondering if I should slowly acclimatize with unsalted water changes over days before I transfer my fish to the main tank. There's a lot of information about how to start the salt, but I'm not sure about stopping it. I know salt doesn't go away and during the...

    After salt treatment

Do I need to water change out aquarium salt to lower the concentration over several days after treatment to prevent osmotic shock? I treated my betta in with aquarium salt after flukes in QT and he's ready for his main tank.

Neon Tetra Broken Tail Area. HELP

This is my thought...If it's just the fin rays that are broken and the fish is eating, it can probably make a recovery, though the rays may not heal straight. It's hard to see from the picture...side note: the water looks cloudy, make sure to use tap water conditioner, and if the tank is still...

Fish tank with velvet. Help have plecos

I feel that a lot of information for fish disease comes from studies on commercial fish/farms, and I keep in mind when interpreting for aquariums. if they mean it's always somewhere in a 1,000 mile river, or a 150 gallon puddle. I don't know if these are legit...
