I have a three gallon tank for my betta, and the heater I have is the Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm 25 watt. It has different settings from about 66 degrees to 96 degrees F. It has never puttered out on me and it is always true to temperature.

I've been using seachem prime, and I've heard that helps with slime coat. Would this be sufficient?

I would say the temperature is around 70, maybe a degree or two higher. The thermometer reads the middle of 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I will put it in his old one gallon tank and see how it does. :)

It's a tetra three gallon cube fish aquarium that I've added sponge to the filter and silk plants to.

So basically let the heater (off) sit and acclimate for a day to the water temperature before turning it on?

I have a rescued betta fish who has never had a heater before and he's getting one in the mail (hopefully) today. It is a marina c10 preset to 78 degree heater, and I was wondering if there would be any problems to giving him a heater when he's never had one in his life before?
