Thanks looks like I will be draining in the am :( lol. You don't think about that weight until you start filling it for us new guys. All I was thinking was more room for fish! Haha

    Aquarium stand replacement

Hi! I recently purchased a 36g bow front aquarium for a steal from someone. The only problem was that I did not have the stand. I set it up today with gravel on two wide end tables pushed together and made sure was level. I did not creek or anythong while feeling and seems stable but I was...

    New 36g Bow Front tank

Thanks guys gives me a lot of options. Looks like I might go with a few schools of fish and maybe a center piece after I do more research. Do people ever put bettas in larger tanks? Considering just turning my 10g to a quarantine tank with some invertebrate in it.

    New 36g Bow Front tank

OK, so I am upgrading a 10g to a 36g bow front and I am unsure how to stock it. In my 10g i have 8 neon tetras and a beta. I know that 8 tetras could use more room to be comfortable so I am probably going to put them in the 36g. I really want a larger center piece fish but what are some options...

    Afraid for fish

It's only a 10g that's why I'm concerned. I don't think tetras are very hardy and usually more active correct?

    Afraid for fish

I recently had a catastrophe and lost my entire tank while I was away on business. My tank was fully cycled and been establish for about a year and a half. After it had happen I came home 3 days later and i checked the water and the nitrates were off the chart (my wife wasn't doing water...

    Question about fish stores

I work in retail and can view this problem two ways. Say your the pet store and you are waiting on your new shipment. When is arrives most of the fish have ich and if turn it away you won't have anything to sell to the customers (and if a small shop) could take you out of business. Or do you...

    The unexpected 10g journey

That's to what I was referring to. Bettas don't only live in rice patties they also live in small ponds and love logs because it has plenty of bugs full of protein and protection from large fish.

    The unexpected 10g journey

I hope the betta improves but just a tad bit of experience. Bettas dont care for moving water and in the wild are in small ponds and rice patties. They usually live in logs and such I wouldn't think that bubbling volcano (as cool as it looks) would make him happy. I could be wrong. Also back...

    Frozen vs Freeze dried

Thanks! I have my betta in a community tank but I feed him separately since he needs more protein or so I have heard.

    Frozen vs Freeze dried

What different effects do freeze dried have over frozen? I have a betta and have been feeding him freeze dried bloodworms and I have been hearing a lot about getting frozen. No lfs has frozen around me so should I spend an extra dollar to buy frozen online or continue with freeze dried. Thanks!

    fish for my 10g

I have an established 10g tank that used to house 3 mollies. When away on business my wife tried her best but they all died. So when I returned I slowly added a betta and 8 neon tetras. Did I hit my max capacity or do you guys believe I have room for maybe one more lone wolf type small fish...

    Black Molly Genetics

It could just be bad luck. Mollies in general are very inbred especially the black ones. Did you have aquarium salt in your tank? Although its by no means required it certainly helps with mollies if your cycling or they are in stress. Mollies are very sensitive to ammonia and nitrites and salt...
