I've had 2 bol rams for about 2 and 1/2 months now. I know that these guys are hard to sex. I have seen several methods on how to sex them. The one ram is much larger and has bright red on his lower fins, a very tall first spike on his dorsal fin (which is black). I cant really tell if his...
Oh I have more than 3 in there.
It's 29 gallon.
I have 6 black skirt tetra, 2 bolivian rams, 4 guppies and a clown pleco.
Yeah I messed up. Used a friend's old filter and thought that meant i was cycled and could add fish.
Luckily everyone seems to be doing well!!
That's what I thought and that's what I wanted to ask about.
1) is is possible to miss the trite spike, because of water changes?
2) does that picture look like I have trates?
I am about 7 weeks in. My tap water tests around .25 ammonia, so there isn't much I can do about that. I use Prime and do frequent water changes.
I have never seen any traces of trites? Is that normal?
My question is - does it look like I am gaining trates, or is that still considered a zero...
The funny thing, not that dead fish are funny, but my Clown Pleco, who NEVER comes out of hiding, was sitting on a rock, in plain view, just staring at the dead Platy.
I think he was planning a feast. I had to spoil his fun though and remove the body.
My bolivian rams are very peaceful. So if anyone attacked him, I am guessing it was the black skirt tetras. But even that would shock me.
Hopefully this **** water will start showing changes soon!
Thanks everyone
I am still sitting at .25 ammonia, no trites and the trates seem to be a darker yellow than before, but still no orange on the API color chart.
I had a platy die this morning. He hadn't been eating and was just sitting on the bottom a lot the past week. last night I saw a wound on his back. So...
He's a totally wuss. haha. You never see him. They are nocturnal, so obviously he's not gonna be as active during the day. Even at night, I rarely see him. He just chills in his lil cave.
One thing a lot of people have told me, is that you NEED driftwood for them. I just got some. It's in the...
