When I was about 6 my father had a fishtank. My older brother, 7 1/2, decided he liked milk so much that fish would probably like it too. That was the last time my dad ever had fish. Shame too, but it was his loss.
Thats a good idea. I live at the crossroads of I35 and I70. Perhaps I can do this. Thanks! Wife says they have a bulletin board at one of the local truck stops. I figure that a small load of this rock has to have SOME good looking rocks, and the rest gets put below it to make a strong base...
yes, I thought about that. But its the right kind of rock for a tank, and the rock was to be used for the bottom base. I just thought that I could get nicer pcs for the top layers. I also wrote back and told them I was looking for smaller chunks, not pcs that are 50# each.
A San Antonio Tx. company named Keller Material just quoted me .15 lb for Texas Holey rock. Problem is they want to put the 50 lbs I want on a skid to ship it. Skid shipping will cost me over $700. Is there anyone out there fro San Antonio? Would like to now more about them, and maybe work...
From using them. Have had bad experiences. But it's a choice and I will admit it was a long time ago. Probably new products out there now. The point is that some people don't want to mess with that stuff, and for them.... plastic is easier. With the ones I get at Hobby Lobby I have had MANY...
1) I have never had problems over the rust- not enough of it to cause problem (10 years running)
2) FERTILIZERS ARE BAD!!!!!!
3) You don't have that a fertile substrate in a new setup.
Look, not everyone wants to put that much work into a tank. (fishtank vs. ecosystem)
I just put out what MY...
Looks solid to me. I did something very similar frame wise. Wrapped it with 3/4" oak ply, put on corner edging. Banded the top edging and put an opening in the front. The dog toys go into the body with the fish on top. Both the dog and the wife love it. you could do the same and still brace...
The plan is solid. Will work with top or bottom holes as long as the air escape holes remain in lid. Could be modified for different canisters. Could be used for long distance transfer bucket with battery op air pump.
Use a funnel and hose to gently put the sand to the bottom of tank. Water will cloud slightly but should settle quick. I never had to remove the fish doing it this way.
I am no expert, but goldfish will pretty much eat whatever you feed them. Too much protein leads to fat fish. They require more veg matter. But the popping I have seen before. I personally think it's just a form of begging, and perhaps boredom. Goldfish do not have long memories, and it is...
And yet he is correct. As I stated there are many types of sandstone. I found a list of about 40. Not exactly sure what kind mine is but a chem test preformed by a friend showed that the lime in this batch is very low. And though it is very hard it had a lot of holes and pits. Will try to get...
