I'd like to thank everyone that has given me advice on starting my tank over. I've got two neon tetras doing wonderful. I called this GREAT fish place in Elgin, IL that gave me great advice.
But I do have a question.
My tank is "due" for a changing. The fish have been in for about a week. But...
I have a whisper 2.0 filter that hangs on the back. I'm starting to think that the directions on the filter to change the "disposable filter" once a month was my tanks downfall. Do I really need to change the filter or just leave it be?
So today I'm cleaning out the tank. I'm not going to refill it quite yet. We are going on a trip for a week and I won't be here to monitor the water. I'm reading another thread on how to set up but can't find filter media for the filter. I guess carbon filters are a no no? Anything else I should...
My tank has been unsuccessful. Due to gouramis and other minor issues. How should I go about cleaning the tank, pebbles, hideys and plastic plants. Also how should I clean the filter machine?
I'm dealing with the same issue. I'm starting to buy spring water from Walmart in the jugs to assist with a nice ph. It's taking some time but hoping it works
And ones that have amazing customer service that ship to you? I'm so over Petsmart. And going to petco isn't an option. And they suck too. I'm tired of fish dying on me.
I'm down to two fish. My favorite red gourami just died for no reason at all. :banghead:
The algae is god awful. The algae tablets I got didn't help much.
Can someone please help me trouble shoot this tank.
My fish have ich. Yep. Lovely right? Got my pH to a norm. Wake up to this. Crap. Called the pet store that is super super helpful told me to get this product called ick guard. Okie dokie. Follow the directions, and I wasn't quite paying attention to the syringe I was using and squirted the guard...
I keep the light off at night. I'll pick up some snails soon. We don't go by the store often so next time we are there. I live in LaSalle county Illinois any shops your recommend?
