    Instant Ocean Sea Salt problem

Thx for all the help. The tank eventually cleared, but the sediment remained after 2 full days. I did premix the salt into the RO water and let sit for 36 hrs w/ occasional hand stirring, my std procedure. I like the powerhead idea. I do believe there is something wrong w. the salt. I...

    Instant Ocean Sea Salt problem

Today we did a 30% water change in our fish only tank (55 gal). Unfortunately it appears that salt did not fully dissolve, leaving the water cloudy and a white sediment on everything. The fish appear to be OK, but are certainly not behaving normally after about 8 hrs. The Ehiem filter...

Need help due to cannibal fish

The clown is a percula clown. Yes, I did mean Hawk fish. - should have used spell check. We do have three large pieces of rock and a couple pieces of dead coral. You're idea of re-arranging the rock is a good idea. Any good ideas on what type of fish we should try next time?

    Nitrate problem

We have had our aquarium active for about 10 months. Recently we lost two fish and discovered that our nitrates are at 50. We've been doing water changes frequently to try to lower the numbers. Someone told us that a protein skimmer would help - is that true?

    The right food ....

Yes, we know about the tangs - our LFS recommended we get those - now you see why I don't trust their advice anymore. They still arre fairly small but when they get larger we will have to sell them back to the store. What is Formula One?

    The right food ....

I'm wondering if we are feeding our fish properly. We presently have a percula clown, henacious butterfly, yellow tang, blue tang and just lost a flame angel last week. We presently feed our fish 5 times a week - every other day switch the following flake food: Brine Shrimp Plus The...

    Flame Angel

We lost our Flame this morning ... :( Probably won't replace with another due to your warnings about the cyanide - so sad.

    Flame Angel

We have added a henicious butterfly recently but I don't notice it acting aggressive to any of the fish.

    Flame Angel

So .... back to my original question What do you think might be wrong with the flame angel. iIt's so sad - he used to swim all the time with the other fish and now he hides in the rock and coral. He came out when I fed the fish but didn't eat anything.
