    Equiptment Recommendations

I bought a standard 10 gallon tank from a friend and I want to see if I can get a pretty full carpet of Dwarf baby tears. I will be running CO2, but I could use substrate and lightning recommendation. ADA Aquasoil seems to be the go to, but any input is appreciated. I'm more concerned about...

    White Debris in tank

The plot thickens...the gunk thins.... 36 hours since the water change/filter cleaning...the "White Stuff" has gone AWOL. It was still all over my tank yesterday and the free floating stuff was mostly getting sucked up by the filter, but there was still a lot of it on the...

    White Debris in tank

One step forward, two steps back.... 1) Pulled out my filter, and it was definitely was pretty gnarly. It was definitely in need of a good cleaning. Got all the "Gunk" cleaned up, but diddn't see any "White stuff" though. 2) Did a 25% water change, picked up a lot of the existing white...

    White Debris in tank

Hi Autumnsky, thanks for the response. The tank has been setup for at least 3 years. It's not just isolated to the driftwood, it was just easiest to get a good picture of it on the DW. It's pretty much all over the tank, like it snowed :( I suppose it could be decayed food, but I have never...

    White Debris in tank

I noticed after my latest water change, there's a whole bunch of white "Debris" in my tank. It's not attached to anything, it wipes/shakes off if disturbed. Is this anything I should worry about other than maybe not doing water changes enough...

    Pregnant Synodontis petricola

Hi all! I'm pretty sure my petricola cat is pregnant, bloated belly, no sickness issues in the past. I've got a few questions, from what I read they are egg layers and I know those will get eaten up by the other fish in my tank if I don't quarantine her somehow. Question 1) Breeder box? Type...

Bubbles in outflow of my Canister Filter. HELP!

Thanks for the advice Andy! I really appreciate it. My filter intake is about 6" from the bottom of the tank leading into a bulkhead (And I can't move it), but I knew that wasn't the problem. The filter and all my seals seem rock solid, no place for air leaks so I cleaned the filter...

Bubbles in outflow of my Canister Filter. HELP!

I have a plumbed acrylic tank with bulkheads on the back and I'm seeing bubbles coming out of the filter outflow. I checked all plumbing and hoses, no leaks, no kinks, nothing. Could this be from the filter needing a cleaning? Or any other culprits? I'm stumped have never seen this happen before.

Planted Tank Newbie - Advice Needed

I'm thinking about starting into live plants and was looking for recommendations on low tech/maintenance plants. I have a couple million questions and have done some research already but to start: The guy at the LFS said if I do add some live plants to not just start with one because it could...
