I would say bull. PVC is used for drinking water lines in homes all the time.

One of my dogs will get to any fish food that is not at least 3 1/2 ft off the floor. He also loves to eat any algae wafers that hit the ground.

I have several AC 110's, 70's and 20's. I have only had to prime them after water changes. I routinely turn my filters off during feedings. I forgot to turn on back one today for 2-3 hours. I did not have to re-prime it. How long of a power outage does it take for it to drain?

All you need is water and light. I have some connected to a tall ornament by a rubber band. It is floating at the top of the water. I have to give it a "hair cut" every month or it will cover half of the 100 gallon tank it is in. I trim it back to a small clump.

I don't think they would be very effective. With bio media you are looking for something with a lot of surface area. Lego bricks are solid, so your surface area is limited. Some examples of things that people use are: ceramic rings, bio-balls, nylon pot scrubbers, and lava rock.

You need at least to have a either a hole in the top or a valve for air to enter. I guess if you are that worried about particles from the air, you could use an air filter.

I have some in my office tank. They are all over the place. Do you have anything such as a strong current that is making them want to stay way from the top?

Check the seams that there isn't any gaps in the silicon. Look and see if there have been any noticeable repairs. If there are you might need to reseal the tank before using it.
