0 amonnia, 0 nitrities, 0 nitrates. 36g with Aqueon 30 queietflow. The plan was to switch to canister because HOB was to **** loud so I'd like to elliminate it. I think I'll let them run together for a month, that sounds reasonable.

Tank is about a month old, can't quite tell if cycle is complete but I've purchased a canister filter and inline heater that I'd like to set up soon. Do I run both filters until bio filter builds up in canister? I want to make sure I do not dissrupt cycle or have it start all over again.

I reduced timer on light so it's only on for 4 hours total throughout the day. Any thoughts on more frequent water changes? Currently I do 50% once a week and a thorough vacuuming.

It takes me about 20 minutes to do a full water change and thurough vacuuming. Not sure why I'd leave a bunch of waste in there to save a few minutes; that being said it sounds like it's ok to remove decorations so thank you for those who answered my question. :)

Light is on for about 10 hours a day, it's an LED that came with tank (TopFin 5g starter kit). Tank is near a big window but is north facing so only gets indirect sunlight.

For what it's worth I used a test strip in my cycled tank and it shows about 20/30 nitrate so I know they work. I know prime can mess with readings but have given it more than 48 hours to work out of the water than test.

Just utilized there 14 day return to bring back 2 of my 3 dwarf gourami so on that front it's cool. I'm just getting sick of going back and forth there because of misinformation and kids not paying attention. They are in a 36 gallon with plenty of hiding spots. I'll keep an eye out, thanks. :)
