I know some info. on bettas, but not enough. My daughter might get a betta from her sister and wants to get a bowl to put in and set on dresser. I know it needs more from research, but any added advice?

My daughter wants to get rid of her betta. I have 55 gallon planted community tank. I do have angels and 2 balas and 1 redtail, amongst other fish. Am I right in thinking the male betta cannot go in this tank?

Put walmart brand of scotch brite filter in myHOB filter. dont know if chemicals are in it. i rinsed really good and then boiled in water for about 20 min. then soaked for 15 min. i also put bag of carbon in front of them. fish seem fine. do i have anything to worry about?

Does anyone have an opinion on using spring water in there fish tank? I have had my aquarium set up now for almost 5 years and just in the past couple of months my parameter have been bouncing all over the place. I do use our cities tap water.
