    Red Flame Tetras

Yeah, then I'd say it the swim bladder.

    Red Flame Tetras

Have you tested the water since? Are any other fish acting poorly? My guess is that's it's a swim bladder problem, but it's always good to test when you spot something.

I usually order some food, too.

    20 gallon tank stocking question

Snails can be good scavengers and help with controlling some types of algae. Nerites in particular have a good reputation for that, plus they can't successfully breed in freshwater, so you won't be overrun with them (unlike with many other snail species). Just remember they'll need a regular...

    Fluval/Aqua Clear

They're good filters. If you have a lot of plants or livebearers, a prefilter sponge can be handy.

    Online Fish Suppliers??

They can be great. Just remember that you'll probably pay a lot in shipping. Be sure to ask around and search the vendor to see what kind of reviews they get.

    20 gallon tank stocking question

Sounds like a nice stocking level to me. I might add a couple more corys and 2-3 nerite snails , but you're not overstocked at all. As for the "1 inch per gallon" rule, ignore it. There are so many variables that determine how many fish you can keep in a tank that it's worthless.

    Preferred food

You might try Southern Delight. I haven't kept Africans, myself, but a YouTuber I follow who keeps mainly big cichlids liked it so much, he started selling it.

Best Plant Dip for sterilization/snail prevention

I second the idea of loaches. I know snails are part of the ecosystem, but I hate those little pest snails that get everywhere. Here's a good video on decontaminating plants: https://youtu.be/Psv6ZMcpjR0

    New 75 gallon tank stocking

I'd love to have a 75g. Let me suggest Bleeding Heart Tetras. Very pretty, big enough not to be instant snacks for the angels, and (iirc) not fin nippers if kept in a shoal. :fish1:

What brands have you tried? Also, what species are these? Some prefer plant matter, others more carnivorous.

    Aquaclear 50 Noise troubleshooting

I have several, and they're usually dead quiet. The only times I'm bothered with noise is a) when I do maintenance: the rotor housing will be a little noisy until a little gunk builds up, as someone said above . Or b), the lids sometimes develop a rattle. I have to put something on them or...

    Harlequins in betta tank?

Harlequins should be fine; I often see them with bettas. (With the usual caveat that it's always a crapshoot to see if the betta will get along with the new tankmates. Some are little serial killers) And I agree with Autumnsky about quarantining first.

If a plant gets holes in it on the leaf is it possible for the leaf to grow back

Not that I've ever seen. Best to just fix whatever caused the problem and then trim the leaf to stimulate new growth.

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

The Planted+ light (~4 years old) on one of my tanks started burning out, so I treated myself to a Fluval Planted 3.0, having heard so may good things about them. Just set it up, and it's a bit yellow for my tastes, but I imagine that's a function of playing with the settings on the app. That...

    Waterflow and co2 placement

I'd put the diffuser under the spray bar and let the current catch the bubbles. You could also get a small pump, such as a Koralia, to move the bubbles.

    CO2 and dosing questions

I use Aquarium Co-op's "Easy Green." I like the convenience of all-in-one dosing. There are many good all-in-one on the market and, to be honest, I like them better than the Seachem line. As for CO2, I think as long as you find the range that stays green, you're fine. Just watch your loaches...

    Platys might be pregnant

While not guppies, if she's been anywhere near a male, she's pregnant. Platys aren't voracious fry eaters, but it's a good idea to have a little food handy, as well as some plants the fry can hide in for a few days.

HOB filters--just some thoughts about Marineland versus Aquaclear

I often have that problem when doing water changes. It's usually a gunk buildup in the impeller area. Doesn't happen as much since I added pre-filter sponges, but it still happens. Annoying, but not enough to make me switch from Aquaclears.

Is my Platy pregnant? Newbie here!

If she was around males for any length of time, you can assume she's pregnant. While not as prolific as guppies, platys are baby-making machines.

    29 gallon stocking help

Three-spots can get up to six inches, but that's not common in tank-kept species. Still they can get big. A 29 might be a little crowded for two, but I tend to be conservative in that regard. Definitely consider 5-8 corys, depending on size. You'll definitely get more interesting behavior. To...

    200litre stock ideas please

I'm curious if your neons and cardinals school together; I've sometimes seen that. You might also consider increasing your danio schools. With more of their own species, they'll spend more time chasing each other rather than harassing the other fish.

    Possible 20 gallon long stocking

I think a single male would be fine, and I do think a 20-l would be small for a trio, particularly if a pair forms and the "out" female starts getting bullied. The rasboras are a good choice for a companion fish.
