I have a Tiger Barb that got his back fin nipped almost completely off about 3 weeks ago. I've had the guy QTed since then and while his open wounds have healed, the back fin seems to be taking awhile to grow back. He seems to have adapted well cause he can swim around very quickly. Do you...
The redness is almost totally gone. He's still looking bored which I'm guessing is normal. He doesn't swim too good yet without that back fin, so I'm thinking I should leave him isolated for awhile still. I'd hate to put him back in with the others and not be able to get away that easily.
I'm a sick fish rookie myself too - but I've noticed one or two of my Tiger Barbs flashing on the plants if I am late on a water change and the nitrates get too high. You say yours are at 20-40 so it's just a thought. Good luck.

Are these fish OK to keep by themselves or do they prefer to be in schools? I think these are also called Denison Barbs or Torpedo Barbs. Thanks in advance.
They aren't dyed but I guess they are just a morph of the original.

Hi everyone.
I'm sure this has been asked in the past but I was unable to find much by searching. Are red tiger barbs common and easy to find? I am pretty new to the hobby and really enjoy my 3 regular and 3 green tiger barbs and would like to add 3 or so more red ones if I can find them...
