I have a tiger barb that must be the weakest one or something cause every once in awhile he gets his back fin nipped. Today I came home and he got it again but this time he appears to be bleeding from the back fin area and it's almost gone. He seems fine, swimming around and eating. I have a 5-1/5 gallon hospital tank almost ready to go and I have melafix and pimafix on standby. Does this sound like a good plan? Thank you in advance.

He's looking OK. A little bored being alone in the tank. The redness is almost gone though. I hope he makes it!

The redness is almost totally gone. He's still looking bored which I'm guessing is normal. He doesn't swim too good yet without that back fin, so I'm thinking I should leave him isolated for awhile still. I'd hate to put him back in with the others and not be able to get away that easily.
