Damsels have been known to survive in fresh water for days!! They are very hardy and if you just cant wait for fish adding a few wont hurt..Chances are if they die they would have died anyways even in the most prestine tanks.... By the way doesnt anyone use bacteria in a bottle anymore??

doesnt really matter IMO I have mixed sea salts for many years and then used it in the tank.. You do need to mix it fairly well before use or you are likely to get some cloudiness.... I'm not saying that the others are wrong but mixing and adding it will not cause any serious problems, I mean...

I would have to say it should depend of the life expectancy in captivity... If you buy a fish that lives 5 years or more and it will outgrow your tank in a year probably a bad choice...Buy a fish with a 1 to 3 yr life and 4 years later its WAY to big then sadly part ways... Doesnt anyone get...

Find a nice water store in your area..Usually $.25 gal and has been through a 10 to 15 filter process....You will want to add trace elements though as this water is stripped of almost everything....

Feron... Missed your 2nd edit b4.... Easy...do like distributers do..plastic bag filled with H2O and O2 (see LFS) and styrofoam lined box an good ol Fed Ex, DHL, Airborne whoever.... No big deal P.S. LR does not need to be submersed but corals do..... Mike

Have you talked to your pest control agent? Some of these applications are airborne for relativly short periods...You may be able to seal the tank in plastic wrap for around 12-18 hours ( or less..and even though that length is still going to be less stressful on livestock than a move!!) with...

But no-one answered.... Good points Lando...but the only advice was one not to use the beach sand (Which I wasnt planning I want to wade out and get from water.) then it went to conversation of buy it at a LFS (Dont want to pay $30 for a 20lb bag of sand) or goto a construction supply store...

Ummm I ask because I can be at the beach in like 40 minutes or so.... There are places like Sebastian Inlet where while filled with people and also smaller boats the water's current is fast so I would think the sand would be safe..many years ago I got some rock from there and it flourished well...

Hi again everyone... Well I do have a chiller ready for when I set up my tank soon but it is not really for a 250 more like 175 to 200 I believe.. (however we do keep our house at a comfortable temp year round and have never had a chiller for my previous reefs so I think it's fine for a F/O...

Definatly get rid of the pennies and start doing water changes... The copper in the tank is killing the inverts.. I've had commercial tanks go through shark losses that were caused by a couple of pennies that ended up in the filtration (We did'nt notice them sooner due to location unfortantly)...
