Nice. Quick question though. Will a pair of Green Terrors fit in a 45?

Right now I have a few Kribs in there that I was thinking about moving to my 55. So, the questions is, what cichlid would go good in a 45, either solo or with a pair. I want something that is good size, ie not dwarf, maybe even a pair.

An uncle gave me a 20 or so gallon hex tank last month. Just wondering if maybe this would be good enough for a few shellies?

Just got a Hex aquarium from an uncle. Not sure how big it is, though. Just wondering is it possible to put a ciclid or pair in it or would a hex be a bit too confining.

I have a male Krib that apparently thought it's fry were food. The female did not appreciate this and would chase him off. Spoke too soon. Looks like when I turn the light off, she leads them back into the cave. When I come home from work and turn the light on, she brings them out. I really hope at lease two of them survive

Well, it is as I suspected would happen. the baby Kribs are no more. But, all is not lost. The female appears to be nesting yet again. Third time's a charm, I hope. Anyway, what I was thinking about doing is prepping my 20h and transfer the Kribs over to there so they can spawn in peace...

One thing someone told me is that putting creatine-free protein in the tank with the fry will help them grow faster. Is this true?

Jujst checked my tank about an hour ago, and, well, I have a "few" new additions. My Kribs were spending a lot of time in a 'cave' and I was wondering if maybe they were spawning. Sure enough, now I have krib fry. :D

Well, that would definitely be true were this a typical Minnesota winter. I did figure out what happened to all our snow. Denver stole it. :)

I have a 55g with 2 Kribs, 2 angels, 2 Bolivian rams, a cory cat, and a bristlenose pleco. I am looking at getting a coupl of Apistos to put in there too. With the above info, would I be able to fit a couple of "shellies" in there without too much problem?

Ok, what can I do to lower the pH. As far as the hardness, I do have a rather large piece of driftwood, which I have been told is supposed to lower hardness.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I do have a bristlenose pleco (are they the same as bushy nose?). Last I checked, my pH was at about 8.2 using the API master test kit. Well, the magazine (FAMA I believe from a couple of months ago) mentioned nano-reef. Not sure what the difference is between FOWLR and reef. Just something else I will have to research. :P
