I have 3 zebra danio, and one has been lying at the bottom of the tank. It still comes up to eat when I feed them though. I noticed that as days go by it gets skinnier and it looks anorexic. Now it’s not moving at all. I’m scared it’s going to die. What is wrong with it? Is there an infection?
I did a water change and tested water parameters which seems to be normal. I even added at least 1 ml prime each time I added water. And I probably added 5 capfuls by now. But the fish has been gasping for air all day and looks pink. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. The pH is 7.4. Ammonia is 0...
it hasn’t been a month since i last did a water change. i think its the abrupt change in ph. and possibly the metals.
I checked her again and she is bleeding from the gills. Soo maybe it could be ammonia? I just read that ammonia can come from tap water as well. I did notice that her gills were...
The adults had been in a separate 1 g tank for a while. I had moved them to keep them away from the fries. I just did a water change on them today but not the 10 gallon with the fries. I was using the gravel cleaner and vacuumed too much water and ended up replacing with completely new water...
I didn’t realize changing much of the water could kill a zebra danio. The female died. And the male seems to behave normally. I hope he won’t die later. I only had them for a few months. I’m really saddened by this.
I have 4 baby fries in my separate 5 gallon tank. It’s a new tank so it’s not...
Help. I just tried feeding this powdery baby fish food because I don’t think my tank has Infusoria. The fry still doesn’t look like they are eating. Usually I would see them pooping which is how I know if they are. But they aren’t.
Update: I see my fries are pooping. There must be plenty of microbes growing in my tank that they are eating. My java moss is only the size of a golf ball though.
I have zebra danio fries that just started swimming in 10 g. I was planning on letting them eat what microbes are there. There’s small brown patches on the glass of the the tank. And I also have a small java moss - not sure if it has enough Infusoria though.
I mean once they mature and I leave them in the same tank with their mother and father. Would they have an inherent knowledge of not inbreeding? Or will this be trouble?
I want to ask whether this is normal behavior? I haven’t seen the male danio fish stop chasing the female ever since I had purchased them from the store. I walk away and walk back and he is still chasing. It seems a little... tiring.
I don't think I noticed any particles. It's more homogeneous so I guess that would be milk like. It's starkly different compared to yesterday when my water was perfectly clear.
I had set up my tank as suggested. I put 1 fish in yesterday and added bacteria.
This morning, the tank is really, really cloudy it’s hard to see! That’s pretty good.
I think I am going to let it cycle by letting the tank sit for at least 2 weeks with current freshly filled water without any fish. I am also going to add a conditioner to help the bacteria along. Do I have to let the filter run continuously or can I turn it off now and then? I don’t have a...
I don’t know how long =/
Should I go by Tetra Water Care Kit? It has tablets that removes chlorine, adds bacteria, and buffers pH. Supposed to work instantly.
Hello,
I need help. So I got an old fish tank from someone else. It had algae on it so I thoroughly rinsed the tank and everything in it including the pebbles, decorations, filter with water only. The decorations still have some dark green to black “stain” on them but I got most of it out.
So...
The green water that I have is currently cloudy and light green.
The fry are black and small. I do see a transparent body shape taking form in older ones. Most of the time I see them hiding in the gravel and they sit still without moving for a day. Occasionally one or two will swim out of the...
I have cultured a green water in a jar and am waiting to transfer some of that into the tank though I don't know how to proceed doing it. Do I pour some of that on top of the tank? Will it be enough to feed the frys at the bottom? I haven't seen them coming out of the gravel.
