Not able to Fit Sump under Stand

it would probably be fine , but I can't say for sure without seeing the stand.

    Anyone has tried this?

You'd be better off just getting some bad as* halogen lights for your display tank and letting them grow in optimal water conditions and water temperature

    Why do fish just die?

The same reason people "just die" . That's life , my friend.

    is it time?

It's time, just don't add too much at once. One or two fish a week to give the bio-filter time to adjust to the new load. A clownfish and a starfish will be fine....now comes the fun part of aquarium keeping. Enjoy.

How much should I feed my Niger Trigger

Let's not play the race card. Just because he was attacking your other fish doesn't mean you have to call him a niger. :clown:

    hydrometer vrs refractometer

A refractometer is more accurate, just make sure it's calibrated. You can check the calibration by applying freshwater and making sure it reads 0 . If not adjust up or down.

    dwarf fuzzy won't eat

Fuzzy's take awhile to adjust in a new tank. They can take as long as 3-5 days to be comfortable enough to eat sometimes. To stimulate appetite try live ghost shrimp. All lionfish LOVE shrimp.

I'm kind of confused with my new Salt Water Tank.

Never put an anemone in a brand new tank. You need a well established tank as they need perfect conditions.

    High Nitrate Reading

If you are doing 50% water changes every week and still can't get nitrates down, you have way too much load. Is your tank overcrowded? are you over-feeding?? could there be something dead and rotting somewhere in the tank? The only other possibility I can think of is if you are using...

It finally happened with my lionfish!!!

True...and driving your car can kill you also.... if you crash it.

It finally happened with my lionfish!!!

Feed him however you like. A lionfish sting can't kill you, it just hurts like ****.

    Tank Cycling

The best wast to jumpstart your cycle and introduce bacteria is adding live sand and live rock , IMO. ...or even better , if you have a friend with an established tank you can borrow one of thier used filter pads or bioballs. I don't trust that there is living bacteria inside a sealed bottle...

    Tank Cycling

Most of those "bacteria in a bottle" products don't work in my expierence. Biology 101 could tell you that Bacteria can't survive in a bottle indefinitely with nothing to eat. Anything that ever was in there is probably dead by the time you purchase it. Avoid the shortcuts, I say. What is 2...

    Dirty substrate problems

Just get some sand sifting creatures and make sure your tank has good flow, and you shouldn't ever have to clean your sand. There's no good way to do it anyway, because if you try to suck up debri with a gravel siphon you end up sucking up all your sand also. Nassirius are a good start. A...

    cuban hogfish

cuban hogfish get fairly large and aggressive. Hogfish are actually part of the wrasse family, and have the same temperment as the larger wrasses , such as the Lunar wrasse. It's a good probability he would eventually bully and kill most of those fish you currently have, except the purple tang...

    Alternative Lionfish foods...

try to make the frozen food look alive. Drop in front of the powerhead and let it flow in the current so it's moving. If he's not afraid of your hand wiggle it in front of him so he thinks it's alive. Once they get used to it and realize it's food, they'll readily eat it and you won't have to do...

    Bad algae

Algae is natural. The only bad algae is out of control algae, IMO.

How long to wait after mixing the saltwater?

It's best to give it time to stabalize....24 hours is probably not necessary, but that is on the safe side.. I wait 24 on my main Salt tank, because I have too much money invested. However on my little 20 gallon brackish tank with fiqure 8 puffer I don't bother to wait, I just pour it in after...

    Ugly green hair algae

All tanks have algae, you can never get rid of it completely. All you can do is reduce the growth rate or change which type is growing. Most people gear thier tanks to promote Coraline growth, becuase it is pretty.

    cutting costs?

It will become live doing this , but it will take forever before you can enjoy your 75 gallon main. I'd personally rather just save up and buy nice live rock piece by piece .

    Ich?

somtimes they just have an itch they need to scratch , just like humans.

    Aggressive

Get one of the larger Dottybacks. They are in the Sea bass family. Cool fish Whitebar Dottyback (Labracinus sp.)

    New Step into SW

Sounds like it could be a great set-up. Just make sure: You want the hoses to attach to some sort of hang-on the back box on the aquarium, otherwise in a power outtage the water could siphon back out of your tank into the sump and flood the floor.
