The LFS around here charges $60+ just for frags. I have a 14g oceanic nano with no corals so far, and the live aquaria's nano pack seems too good to be true. For $120+shipping I can get 8 nano corals, here is the link for those interested...

The problem is that the water level is only to the level of the pump. It is odd how oceanic did it, but essentially there isn't room for anything in the 3rd chamber.

I'm setting up a 12g JBJ nano, and the liverock goes nearly to the top. So if I do a 25% or more waterchange, some of the rock is above the waterlevel for about 10 minutes. Is it ok for liverock to be temporarily exposed? What about corals?

Thanks for the suggestion theatrus. The rock is mostly brown with little coloration and minimal coraline. Compared to the rock I got at liverocks.com, it's like night and day.

Liverocks.com seems to be not selling rock right now. Any other good places for some nice liverock? I'm trying to get some for my 12g nano, and the rock at all the LFSs around here is dead.

I think snails are food for almost anything, if they're not busy killing themselves.

I don't see why fluctuation is bad. We always talk about emulating NSW conditions, and a 4-10 degree fluctuation from peak-day to low-night would seem normal to me, and likely preferable to a constant temp.

Probably won't get much cheaper than that without getting junk. There is a setup here for $5 more with a 10k bulb, not sure what spectrum bulb your setup comes with. However I am very happy with the coralvue bulbs...
