i have the same question with peruvian puffers, when ever i clean the tank or net them, they never puff. 8O

yeah i have 3 wpg, and i've seen the calculator, and i think that thing is only for dry ferts, not liquid ferts :(

white stringy stuff? i have that stuff on the tip of the tube where the Co2 is coming out off, but not all over the tank. When i take it out, it comes back after a few days. Not reallly a problem for me since it's not invading my tank.

don't unroot any plants, just hold the siphon tube a little over the gravel until you see the dirt getting sucked up. Don't worry if you don't get alll of it, that stuff is beneficialk to the plants also.

i doubt that it's iron, your phospahtes and NO3 should be in a balance to prevent algea from spreading like this.

get a clown pleco, they're pretty common and they stay around 4"

arowanas in the 2500 gal tank isn't a good idea since they're really good jumpers, and i don't think theres a cover over that huge tank 8O althought it would be really cool. If you're making it into a marine, throw in some stingrays in there and puffers, or maybe even octopuses.

I never liked crypts, they just messed up the look of the tank, their leaves are lke long and they just look messy. I don't know, that's just me.
